Lionel Messi wins 2012 Fifa Ballon d'Or

Lionel Messi has become the only player to win Ballon d'Or for Four times in a row beating both Real Madrid's Christiano Ronaldo and Barcelona's Andres Iniesta

Lionel Messi caps off a fine 2012 with another World Player of the Year trophy

The Argetine striker has become the first player to win Fifa's prestigious Award(Ballon d'Or) for four  times in a row. He previously shared the record of three consecutive victories with Michel Platini, while Dutch duo Johan Cruyff and Marco van Basten also won the prize three times 

"To tell you the truth this is really quite unbelievable. The fourth award that I have had is just too great for words.
After receiving the trophy from Italian Defender Fabio Cannavaro He said  "I would like to recognise my other colleagues from Barcelona Andres it has been great to train and play alongside you. I would also like to recognise my friends in the Argentina team, everyone that has worked with me, coaches and staff and my family and friends. Also my wife and son.
